In mid-July, the upper part of the stems is covered with many small purple, rarely white flowers. Lavender blooms for almost a month. The flowers are irregular in shape, two-lipped, collected in spike-shaped inflorescences. When ripe, the dry fruit opens, and yellow-brown lavender seeds spill out.
